Growing up means outgrowing versions of yourself that you didn’t realize you’d miss

As children, we grew up hearing ghost stories and tales of the boogey man that might be hiding under our bed waiting to grab our feet if we left them out of the covers.

Body positivity says, “Love your body no matter what.” Body neutrality says, “Your body exists. You don’t have to feel any certain way about it.”

We all talk about mental health, self-care, and emotional boundaries (and we should), but one thing I notice we often skip is the body that holds it all together. Our bodies aren’t just a vessel carrying us from point A to point B—they’re active participants in how we think, feel, and function.

Why Adult Friendships Feel So Different... and That's Okay
